Totals Distances per teams

17 Teams, each travelling six times. But which team travels the most? That’s easy, obviously it’s the Dragons. So who travels the least? Let’s sum up distances on the road. We use Open Street Map, distances in kilometers between each stadium (if known, otherwise we use city centre). Centurions are traveling the least with just under 2377 Kilometers, followed by Lions and Fire. Paris has the largest distances in total (apart from Dragons), with their 488 km trip to Cologne as shortest distance. Enthroners follows, with a short trip to Vienna and five trips with more that 490 kilometers.

Ignore Barcelona

Central conference teams and Paris travel to Reus. The six largest distances (all over 1000 km) are the six Dragons games. If we ignore trips to Barcelona and look at the mean distance of the rest of the games, Raiders have it pretty easy. Actually their interconference game versus Austrian rival Vikings is their longest trip.

The four teams with the least mean distances are in Central Conference. Seems fair to add Dragons to this Conference.

Statistics

The median distance for ELF games in 2023 is 496 kilometers. About 17.6 % of opponents are less than 250 km apart. The same percentage has to travel more than 800 km and will probably fly. Apart from the Dragons games these are Paris vs Sea Devils, Enthroners vs Thunder and Enthroners vs Galaxy.
